If you are new to my journal, the photo is explained here and here.
SCBWI New England seeks proposals for workshops at its 2006 annual conference, to be held in Nashua, New Hampshire, on the weekend of April 29. The theme for this conference is “A Work in Progress: Honing Your Craft.”
Proposals should include:
* presenter’s contact information (address, phone number, and email address)
* a comprehensive description of the workshop, including its topic, how it will benefit attendees, presenter’s expertise, and any hands-on elements
* the level of the presentation (beginner, intermediate, advanced)* the areas of the children's market (illustration, picture book, early reader, middle-grade novel, young adult, nonfiction) that it addresses
* a summary of the program for use in the brochure (50 words or fewer)
* a brief bio (60 words or fewer)
Proposals from multiple presenters should include contact information and a 60-word bio for each.
Every year SCBWI New England receives many excellent proposals, more than can fit into a conference schedule. Therefore, we must choose on the basis of not simply quality, but also variety, novelty, attendant costs, and other factors.
Send proposals by September 15, 2005, to the 2006 Conference Workshop Proposals address on the SCBWI New England Mail Page.
Please write "SCBWI NE conference proposal" in the subject box. Thank you.
And. . .
in personal, happy news, my husband was offered and accepted a great job yesterday.

And he won't be walking around behind me while I'm trying to write, wanting to know if the mail's come yet or if I've seen the key to the shed. :-)

AND A MIGHTY WAHOOOO!!!!!!
That's Fabulous Cindy! I'm so happy for you and yours (great relief, I know, but to get a great job is even betterer!).Slowly recovering and trying to catch up on what I've missed. (Obviously) a lot!
I dunno, I may submit the proposal again, though I don't know if they will find me any more official (Hey, Kent Brown bought my illustration at the Chautauqua auction, so that was cool!). Lots of work to do, so I'll be hunkering down.
Love,
Agy
